3 Data Visualization Case Studies — Global Trust In Ad Report, E-Commerce Industry Performance during the Epidemic, Text Cloud Analytics Customer Profile
The visualization of data into charts and graphs makes it easy for the reader to quickly grasp the information. It is a basic skill for data analysts to let readers tell a story just by looking at the diagram.

The following are three charts that I have recently encountered, both domestic and international.
Case. Global Trust In Advertising Report
The Global Trust In Advertising Report from 2015 compares the difference in trust between earned media and owend media. The table uses horizontal bar graphs to mark important information, and uses color and perfect psychology to allow readers to better separate the two sides of the information, which is very easy to read overall.
Case. 10 outstanding performances in the e-commerce industry during the outbreak
The chart of Ominichat, a chatbot company in Taiwan, “10 outstanding performances in the e-commerce industry during the outbreak” is confusing.
At first glance, it seems that the chart tries to say that “using Ominichat’s products will make your revenue grow significantly”. However, it is not clear from the chart whether there is a difference in the use of this function, whether the website revenue refers to all e-commerce companies or Ominichat’s partner e-commerce companies, the relationship between revenue growth and the use of this function, and so on.
Overall, this figure is very confusing.
Case. Analysis of customer profile by text cloud
Text cloud is widely used in various fields. It is a tool that allows readers to quickly grasp the most important information.
The picture shows that the product is able to analyze the user’s usage, create detailed customer profiles, pain points that customers care about and so on. We can immediately determine the profile of male customers: “golden age, middle class, IT, creative” and female customers: “emotional consumption, entertainment, professional”.
